Our G.I.F.T (Growing in Faith Together) Team
As members of the GIFT Team, we lead the whole school in following in the footsteps of Jesus. Every day, we live by the gospel values and show others how they can do the same. Being a member of the GIFT Team is a very rewarding task. Here are just a few of the tasks you can find us completing to ensure our school carries out our mission statement to the full.

- Lead whole school assemblies
- Participate in the annual GIFT Team retreat day
- Support younger pupils at break and lunchtime prayer
- Organise and run Advent art and prayer
- Organise and run Lent reflections and Stations of the Cross
- Organise and run The Rosary reflections in October
- Help to create Easter Gardens
- Take a lead role in school masses
- Perform role plays to help other pupils to understand Bible stories
- Supporting Sacramental Programme children in their sessions after school
- Help to ensure that pupils are always showing love and kindness to one another, just like Jesus did.
Our Year so far..
Hope in the Future Event
Our GIFT team took part in a Hope in the Future day with other GIFT teams across the North West. We were lucky enough to be chosen to speak in front of all the other North West GIFT teams about our Caritas Award and the work we have done to celebrate the charity and selflessness of our school community.
Weekly Wednesday Worship
Each week, our GIFT Team lead Wednesday Worship with the KS1 and KS2 children at lunch time! Children love coming to focus on the Gospel and discussing our personal prayers!
November to Remember
The GIFT Team have been gathering prayers from the children of school. Each week, they write down who they would like to remember. This is then read out in our Monday Gospel Assembly. They also sold poppies, wrist bands and snap bands. All the money raised has been donated to The British Legion.
Advent Preparation – Visit to St Joseph’s High School
To prepare for the season of advent and the coming of our saviour Jesus Christ, we joined the other local GIFT Teams for a retreat day at St Joseph’s High School. Here, we developed understand and confidence to share our knowledge to lead the other children of our school.
BOSCEP Carol Service
Our GIFT Team was lucky enough to be invited to the Thornleigh Christmas Carol Service with the other BOSCEP Primary Schools. We celebrated the coming birth of Jesus and the reminder to spread Jesus’ love all around. We participated in an offertory.
Lenten Retreat – St Joseph’s RC High School
Our GIFT Team was invited, in combination with the other local GIFT Teams to be involved in a Lenten Retreat Day at St Joseph’s High school. The aim of the day was to come together as mixed school groups to tell the story of The Stations of the Cross. The GIFT teams did a wonderful and reflective job at this and could not wait to share their new Lenten Knowledge with school!
Lenten Wednesday Worship Activities
Following our Lenten Retreat, our GIFT team spent the period of Lent focusing each Wednesday Worship on Lent activities. This meant our KS1 children could understand the signs, symbols and story of Easter well. These activities included: Sorting and colouring The Stations of the Cross, creating Easter Prayers, having an Easter Scavenger hunt to find the signs and symbols of Easter.
Lenten Showcase – St Joseph’s High School
With the success of our Lenten Retreat Day, Our GIFT Team were invited to showcase their freeze frames and drama to the St Joseph’s community, parents and parish. They displayed each part of the Stations of The Cross respectfully and professionally. We were incredibly proud!
